Who’s April

The April We Know

April is one of the backbones of The Xcite Group. She keeps us moving forward with her combination of hard work and sensible solutions to make sure our clients have amazing success. The best part is that she does it with her unique sense of humor and wit.

Microfiche News

April worked at a title company for a number of years. There, she processed real estate closing documents and worked with the county recording property deeds. It is here that she developed a love for microfiche. Periodically, she needed to dig up really old property records and a very dated microfiche reader was her tool.

“That was actually really cool!”

She also worked at a credit union for 4 years before transitioning to being a SAHM for about 1 year with her son Sawyer. After that, she came to Xcite and “the rest … as they say, is history.”

The Teams Thoughts

April is such a breath of fresh air to work with. She is always ready to learn something new and change workflows to better suit our needs as a company. She keeps work light and has a welcomed sense of humor. Thank you April for sharing your personality with all of us and helping us all take things a little less serious. Your can do attitude is contagious and your sarcasm is infectious.

April’s humor, kindness and professionalism makes working with her so much fun. We are lucky to have her on our team!

Becky

April is one of the toughest yet kindest people I have ever met. She is the type of person who will stand up for herself and others, but also give every ounce of her time and energy to people and causes she believes in. April has been an advocate for the social team and has ensured that social media remains relevant in all client strategies, even when many people overlook it. She works extremely hard to ensure our clients’ social presence is top-notch and their ads are the best they can be. When we aren’t spending our meetings planning our beach taco truck, April makes work fun and easy, and I know she always has my back. All in all, nothing beats the love and sass April provides to Xcite and the social team!

Kim

I’ve had the pleasure of working with April for a lot of years now and have gotten to know her as a person, co-worker and friend. She is kind, “punny” and clever and genuinely cares about people and our customers. When she first started, she was an employee in the social department and now she is running it. It’s a true testament to her growth over the past several years and all the work she has put in. Thank you for being you, April!

If I won the lottery, there’d be TWO things that would be at the top of the list

One

A Castle in Scotland. This has to have a moat with alligators.
“Alligators are adorable!”

Two

A Rose Gold Ghost Rolls-Royce.

On a Side Note

My favorite number is 33! It’s my son’s soccer & hockey jersey numbers, and also Patrick Roy. He’s a handsome, retired hockey goalie/coach with a bit of an edge.

High Five April K - Business

If I could start my own business

I would build a Dog Rescue/Book Store that sells craft coffee and unique cocktails, and also has a true crime-themed escape room in the basement that changes themes every month based on different serial killers throughout history.

Why? Because I love dogs and books and coffee and cocktails and murder.

A Fondness For the Frightening

If you didn’t pick up on the clues above, April seems to have a penchant for the Macabre. When asked what would be on her radio at any particular time the answer was Morbid Podcast. The podcast is hosted by two women from Boston who discuss historical murderers, their victims and other true crimes. They even branch out into the spooky stories and haunted houses as well.

Books & Under Where?

My favorite book – when it comes to the classics – is The Great Gatsby, but I also really loved The Kite Runner. The way that the author can describe a setting … it is absolutely transcendent. I haven’t given either as a gift, though I have emphatically recommended both (and loaned both out). I don’t usually gift books; people tend to be particular about the types of books they like to read, so … it’s like choosing someone’s underwear for them … why would you do that? Ew.

High Five April K Family

Family

When asked what’s the one things she cannot live without, April’s response was:

“Family!”

Behind all the Alligator filled moats, the serial killers and poor pickleball playing, you find one of the most amazing people here at Xcite. April is a dedicated hard worker that brings great solutions for our clients. And the best part, is she does it all with her sense of humor that keeps us on our toes daily.
